How and when is SynviscOne used?
For the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee : practice in the knee, 3 injections of 2 ml at a distance of one week from each other.
For the treatment of osteoarthritis of the hip, ankle and shoulder : give 1 injection of 2 ml; repeat only if no benefits are obtained.
Side effects
Transient pain and / or swelling and / or effusion in the joint may occur following intra-articular injections of Hylan GF 20.
Cases of acute inflammation characterized by joint pain, swelling, effusion and sometimes a sensation of heat and / or stiffness of the joint have been reported following intra-articular injections of Synvisc-One.
Hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylactic reaction, anaphylactoid reaction, anaphylactic shock and angioedema have also been reported.
Contraindications
Hylan GF 20 should not be injected into the joint if there is venous or lymphatic stasis in the affected limb.
Hylan GF 20 must not be used in the presence of infections or severe inflammation or skin diseases or skin infections in the area of the injection.
Do not inject intravascularly.
Do not inject extra-articularly or into tissues or synovial capsule. In general, complications in the area of the injection were caused by an extra-articular spread of Synvisc.
Do not use concomitantly disinfectants containing quaternary ammonium salts for skin preparation, as hyaluronate could precipitate in their presence.
Hylan GF 20 should not be used if significant intra-articular effusion has occurred prior to injection.
Hylan GF 20 has not been tested in pregnant women or in children / adolescents under the age of 18.
Hylan GF 20 contains small amounts of avian protein and should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this protein.

How is SynviscOne stored?
Store at a temperature between + 2 ° C and + 30 ° C. Do not freeze.
Synvisc-One is supplied in a 10 ml pre-filled glass syringe with 6 ml of Hylan GF 20.
