INGREDIENTS:
It belongs to the carotenoid family. It is thus a close relative of Vit.A with antioxidant potency that to date is the best compared to all known antioxidant molecules. It is a lipophilic molecule, so it effectively diffuses into high-fat tissues such as skin. Here it performs its main task: protecting against free radicals. Due to its antioxidant power, it preserves skin cells from degradation (mainly induced by solar radiation, smoke, etc.) resulting in wrinkles and skin aging.
It isthe main polyphenol found in both the fruit (especially unripe) and leaves of the olive tree. It is also responsible for the bitter taste of olives. Together with its derived metabolites (tyrosol and hydroxytyrosol), it would be primarily responsible for the health properties attributed to olive oil that make it one of the most important foods in the Mediterranean diet. In fact, these polyphenols would be responsible for the cardioprotective, neuroprotective and anticancer properties attributed to olive oil itself. As an anti-aging agent it is used for its antioxidant activity (in this case it is a hydrophilic antioxidant) especially useful at the connective tissue level. Derived from bacterial hydrolysis of bovine and porcine type I collagen with an average molecular weight of 2kD. Contrary to popular belief, collagen is not used to provide the structural components for its synthesis because its constituent amino acids are widely available in the foods we routinely consume. The purpose of taking VERISOL hydrolyzed collagen, or “broken down” by bacteria, is to stimulate its production once taken.
